Use 3M™ Scotchfil™ Electrical Insulation Putty as a build-up compound on highly irregular surfaces such as fittings and valves to provide a smooth, waterproof taping surface. 3M Scotchfil Electrical Insulation Putty is soft and pliable - simply press putty into place on irregular surfaces, mould with finger pressure and overtape using standard methods.
Scotchfil™ Putty is UL recognised as a splice insulation for electrical conductors at temperatures up to 80⁰C when overwrapped with either Scotch® Super 33+™ or Scotch® Super 88 Vinyl Electrical Tape
- Easy to mold and shape by hand down to 0⁰C
- Excellent aging properties means the putty will not dry out
- Applies cleanly without waste
- Non-corrosive, synthetic rubber
- Insulation of connections up to 600 volts
- Build up cable and fill out major irregularities and voids in low voltage joints in order to obtain a uniform base for further taping
